Phillips Mill

In 1756, Aaron Philips built Phillips Mill (a grist mill that grinds wheat into flour), which was once supposedly rumored to have supplied flour for Washington's troops in 1776. After having passed through a handful of owners, the Mill was purchased by William Lathrop in 1900. Thereafter, the Phillips Mill Community Association was born and the first Art Exhibition was held in 1929. In addition, a Drama Committee was also formed that continues to produce plays, and the Mill has retained its historic charm and become a community venue for the arts.
