AARON BURR HOUSE

Although the Aaron Burr House was most recently built in 1873, there once was another home built in the pre-Revolutionary War era that was located in this exact spot. It is speculated that after American politician and third Vice President of the U.S. Aaron Burr shot and killed his political rival Alexander Hamilton in 1804, he fled to this home where his friends resided. Although the public formed negative perceptions about Aaron Burr for the remainder of his life, this didn't stop him from later becoming a military leader and involving himself in public matters, such as developing  plans to free Texas and Mexico from Spanish control at the time. Burr died in 1836 and it is rumored that his ghost still roams this property.
