Logan Inn
Built in 1727, years before America gained its independence, Logan Inn is currently the oldest running inn in Bucks County and the 5th oldest in the U.S. Originally known as the Ferry Tavern, the inn was later renamed in 1828 to the Logan Inn in honor of Chief Logan of the Native American Lenape tribe who showered the local townspeople with kindness and hospitality. Accompanying its old age, this inn has been in the crossfire of some of the most revolutionary moments of American history. Prior to launching an attack on the Hessians in the infamous battle of Trenton, General George Washington stationed his troops in somewhat close proximity to the town of New Hope, and, unfortunately, due to the December cold many soldiers perished and their bodies were stored under the inn's kitchen where they were cremated. Along with the inn's grisly past, it is speculated that the spirit of Emily Lutz -- who was related to the previous owners of the inn and had lived and died in the inn -- continues to haunt room 6 of the inn.
